Fiona Monbet is a Franco-Irish violinist, composer and conductor.

For the 24/25 season, my latest project, Faubourg 23, composed for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, is touring in Europe.

On the conducting side, I will meet with a dozen orchestras on a wide range of programmes, from Haydn to Gershwin with Orchestre de l’opéra de Lyon, Bournemouth symphonic orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse, Pfalzphilharmonie Orchester, Orchestre national d’Avignon Provence, Ulster Orchestra, BBC NOW, Orchestre national de Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Orquestra Clássica de Espinho, Orchestre Colonne. I will also be collaborating with world music and jazz musicians such as Seckou Keita and Paul Lay.

With my ensemble Miroirs Etendus, we are also putting on Mozart’s opera Cosi fan tutte rewritten by Maël Bailly and directed by Antonio Cuenca Ruiz, as well as an ensemble concert featuring Graal Theater by Kaija Saariaho and Peer Gynt rewritten by Arthur Lavandier.

FAUBOURG 23 – On tour 2024/2025 Creation for jazzband and orchestra, commission of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales
A piece for jazzband and orchestra commissioned by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Faubourg 23 premiered at Cardiff’s Hoddinot Hall and was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 on October 18, 2023, it will tour in the UK, Ireland, Germany and Portugal for the 2024-2025 season.
